He is not comatose. Yesterday one last try to contact him and the phone answers but the background is loud in a crowd or something. He says he can't hear and to call him in the morning. Fast forward to the morning and no answer, no voicemail setup etc etc.
I am just really putting this out there for anyone searching to buy one to get real life experiences to help with their decision. At this point I would not recommend it to anyone unless maybe you live in MO and can do this in person. It is no wonder there are a few hundred of the JR500s new in box in his possession left out of 500 after about 12 years.
My last two purchases from other sellers both took less than a week from order to receipt of guns with little communication needed. But if communication was needed they were quick and available by phone, text, email, voicemail etc.
If I ever do get in touch with him I expect to hear excuses like no ffl info, confused about check, sick, out of town blah blah blah. I have documentation of all needed information sent to him, cashed etc.

This is interesting to know. I am in the same exact situation. I sent him a MO on 4/28. Was able to get a hold of him a few times initially he confirmed he received the FFL info and he was going to get it out asap. Haven't heard back in several weeks now. I've called(no voicemail setup, emailed and sent an actual letter).

Maybe I will send him a certified letter. It is truly not worth this much effort but I can not afford to not get the gun and be out 1495 + 100 for shipping. It can't be legal to keep someone's money and not deliver a purchased product. I will keep updating this with any new information to help any in the same situation.
When I first started this I thought I was going to quickly send him the money and ffl, stay in contact and receive my firearm promptly.....

This is not good. And from the man who wrote "Unintended Consequences", no less.

I will absolutely update if I hear anything as well. In this thread and elsewhere I really hadn't heard anything but good things, so this is truly unexpected and frustrating.

Looks like an old group buy thread? Looking through it, it does seem that some of them had some delay issues as well though.

I don't know why this stuff happens. In the custom knife world, I've heard of several top tier knife makers that all of a sudden go daft, keeping money for custom orders, never delivering, and claim a myriad of excuses. I've never been hurnt by one, but I have been burnt. Roofer who needed half down, but never did work and a couple flat out scams.

Maybe ross owed some pimps for those hookers on his facebook and just doesnt have the money for shipping now cuz he definitely isnt going into his “slummin” stash to get those guns shipped.
Man, i hope you guys get your guns.

I contacted JR several years ago about purchasing one of his guns. I asked for details for payment and didn't hear back from him for 2 months. He apologized for having forgot about me.But I had lost interest by then and went with another gun. So he has a track record of being really slow with emails and not just when the money is already sent. So maybe there is still hope.I thought he held an FFL at one time as he was dealing in guns. And you could also try contacting the state bar association. and stirring things up that way if you choose.

No excuse, but I'm wondering if early onset dementia might be playing a part...

MTSSHOOTER: WHILE YOU CANNOT THREATEN ROSS WITH CRIMINAL PROSECUTION IF HE DOES NOT DELIVER, YOU CAN GO TO YOUR LOCAL DISTRICT/PROSECUTING ATTORNEY OR JUSTICE OF THE PEACE, OR POSSIBLY A U.S. ATTORNEY's OFFICE, AND SEE IF THEY CAN HELP, PROSECUTE, OR WHATEVER.

Sorry to see this. It took over three weeks for me. Several calls and emails. He seemed very nice on phone but it was frustrating. I have never had a deal like this before but believed he had major health issues so I tried to be patient. Now I’m not sure. I hope you guys get your guns. They really are great guns. You should not have to go through this though. No one should.
