Fabulous Marco Polo, Mark! Congratulations to you! Do you think that's the first one ever taken using a handgun?

It's hard to add any more praise than what is above. But I can say that is truly spectacular. I know I'll never get an opportunity like that,,, but I can stand in awe of your feat. It's stories like this that inspired me as a kid to seek hunting & enjoy it.

Ken, I believe Pam Atwood and a chap who wrote his story in SCI have taken MP with a handgun.

An incredible feat and an amazing animal, Mark. I am in awe. I hope there are more pictures of your hunt we get to see! And, hello! A Single shot in 270 WSM? What a little rocket launcher!

Ken, I believe Pam Atwood and a chap who wrote his story in SCI have taken MP with a handgun. Upon reflection after I posted, I thought I might remember Pam quoting herself saying to Stan "...get me the Hell off this mountain" after her hunt. I couldn't remember if it was a Marco Polo or another Argali. Once again, Fabulous! Conratulations!

Thanks Ken! For a country boy living at 1234 feet elevation -- there is not enough oxygen up there! I was taking Diamox to avoid altitude sickness. It's very uncomfortable when you cannot breath normal. Glad this one is over!

Thanks for posting Darrell! I was fortunate to take this Marco Polo ram in the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan at 14,446 feet elevation. The H-S Precision in 270 WSM with Federal 130 gr. BT performed well at 135 yards. Glad to check this one off the bucket list. Good for you sir. Sheep Hunting is the ultimate. A Marco Polo is the cherry on top. To pull it off at altitude adds a whole other dynamic. I'd like to hear/read more about your hunt.

Congrats ! The snow camo colored beard no doubt played a hand in your success ! (I've a matching one). Amazed and humbled that you are playing at that altitude.

bulu, You have a sharp eye! Yes, the snow-camo beard sealed the deal. Contrary to popular opinion -- it's all natural

Am thinking there is a market for high altitude geritol...LOL. Was a mtn climber and understand issues. Am whooped from helping young friends chase bears around the Allegeny's now. Stay the course Mark.

I did ok with the altitude in Quito, Ecuador, but I was done in by the local guinea pig... My recommendation is to avoid the "cuy." .
