Snyd ; did you have that cylinder put on the Rh or did you have a 45 Colt cylinder bored out ?

Hogue grips seem to fit my hand better than Pachmayrs. Feels more like a Framing Hammer.

I've tried a ton of Redhawk grips including the Gripper but that one was a little big for me. I finally found a set of Uncle MIkes/Butler Creek grips and they are perfect. No more thumb bash when shooting heavy 454 loads and they fit my hand. I've never fondled one of the new roundbutts. hmmm.... Now I sound like a politician... I like the looks of that new Redhawk. All it needs is bigger holes! ^^^^THIS^^^^^ I've got a box full of grips for Redhawks, and the cheapest pair I tried turn out to be the best. They are as Snyd says "perfect". Dan

I'm holding out for a 4" - 5" SRH Alaskan, NOT a pencil neck, slab-sided Toklat, in the pattern of Bowen's GP44, in 480 Ruger please.

I checked one of these full lug Redhawks out at the local gun shop today. I don't recall every fooling with a Redhawk before, but I admit to having a negative opinion going in. "Common internet knowledge" holds that the Redhawk is less than desirable. I expected it to be bulky, unwieldy and have a horrible trigger. It was none of that. It was well balanced, heavily built but not overly so like my Super Redhawk had been, and the double action trigger was pretty darn nice. The grips felt good in the hand, though live fire would be required to see how good they really are. I really liked the sights too, the front fiber optic is thin enough that you can see some daylight around it. Overall it is a really nice revolver, and anyone with a need for a 44 would be well equipped with the Redhawk.

When tuned by a specialist like Jack Huntington, the trigger on a Redhawk can be sublime.

I find that very interesting. I wonder if they will ever come out with a SRH with a 4" barrel lug and the barrel completely enclosed like the Alaskan..........
