My first post here, but have been reading and soaking in a lot of information for some time now! I just received the new Single Seven birdshead....and thought I would share. My first reaction is that it is even nicer than I expected! Proportions with the 3.75" barrel look and feel great to me. This is my first 327 Federal, but I've had a Single Six 32 H&R for a long time....and have really enjoyed it. Now to get to the range! A pic of the new Single Seven ...along with it's smaller brother the Bearcat Shopkeeper...

Very nice! I have the three single sevens with the plow-handle grips and have been scouring the web for a birds-head. May have found one FINALLY! Yours looks great! The .327 is a hand loaders dream, do you hand load yet?

What more could a man need? Well maybe the 45colt birdshead while they are still out there.

First time out with the Single Seven. Oh man...fun! Started out with some cowboy 32H&R mag loads. Easy recoiling and shooting low POA. Then stepped up to some moderate 32 mag loads. Finally...loaded up some 327 Federal 100 gr jacketed soft points. They were definitely more of a "snap"....got my attention after the 32 mag loads! But they grouped well and were more to POA. Next shot some 32 MAG 130 gr Buffalo Bore . Almost same snap as 327 mag, but maybe a little less. Al in all...a good day getting the gun dirty for the first time

I love the birdshead grip too. The gun in my avatar is a 45 Colt Montado I had Alan Harton fix up for me. For several reasons, it's my favorite gun. There was a fellow in Houston who had a gun in with Alan about the time I was sending my guns down there. So I bought a birdshead grip off Midway or someplace... then sent it all down to Alan. He took my Montado grip off my gun and installed it on the other fellow's custom... then that guy sent me the money for the Montado grip (the exact amount I paid for the birdshead grip). It worked out real well.

I was wondering about that avatar pic...nice gun...
Yeah, I like the shorter barreled birdsheads. They are the sweetspot for me for size and packability.

The Birdshead Single 7 is IMO the pinnacle of the Single 7 line. Not only is it a good looking revolver but also a very accurate one in what has become my favorite revolver caliber.

Welp.. there's something I didn't know I needed. I have that exact match in a single six convertible in 22lr/22wmr.. Yep. Maybe worth trading out my maybe-Harton Bearcat WMR for. Bones, your picture makes that single seven look not THAT much larger than the bearcat. Is it really so? "almost" the same size? at least in feel and weight? I could see that gun being a very very nice little gopher getter. -------------------------------- OK, fresh off the ruger website, that little gem is not on there. The new single seven? Where are you finding it, and does it come in blue? Nevermind, found it. Lipseys, gunbroker, no blue, Don't care. Next on the list after the 500L BFR. I'll replace the bearcat.

The math just told me I can shoot 32 acp through this revolver as well. Now it's a foregone conclusion, I'm trading my bearcat for this guy!
Thanks for posting. Ya cost me some money (in a good way, of course)

Whiterabbit...that pic of the new Single Seven next to the Bearcat Shopkeeper does make them look a little more close in size than reality. The Single Seven is definitely a little more of a handful. Same feel...but everything is 1 step up in dimension/thickness. I can get some other angles this weekend for more perspective.
