I think I mentioned in another thread that this is the one custom treatment I have been drooling over longer than anything else. I just never acted on it. Wow, Robb, what a masterpiece. I think it was late 90's to early 2000 when I saw a lightweight Colt on Bowen's website and printed out the picture on my little ink jet printer. That pic still resides in my little green Nosler reloading manual.
I do have a question, though. In all the pics I have seen of this custom I notice there is no engraving on the front, lightened area of the frame. Is there a reason for that?
You don't live too far from me Robb. Maybe one day I can finally pay you a visit. If you ever plan to display your customs at a local gun show, please let me know so I can pay the entrance fee and view your collection, Robb. Maybe I'll even get a table and sell some of my unused items...
Again, congrats on this sublime work of art. Maybe you can take a local blacktail with it???

I agree... I'm late to the party, but that gun is just so right in so many ways... one of the nicest I've seen... I'm not a big fan of the steerhead engraved grip... but heck, it's Ivory, if that was on the gun, I'd keep it too, & learn to like it

A "Best Gun" by every definition.
Does it reside in a Huey case? Whose leather did you select?

It will be carried in one of Doc's holsters, probably the new shoulder holster.

You told me about this one a while back. I've nveen waiting to see it. I'd always hoped of owning a lightweight since the first time I saw one. Masterful work all around.

Really wish I had bitten the bullet and had Hamilton build one when he was still doing those.

Bowen built me its twin on a USFA dual cylinder .22 rf, factory exhibition grade walnut. Money well spent, it goes to my grandson when he is old enough. Until then I am the caretaker.
