I don't think a 375 grain will do anything you can't do just as well with a 350 grain. I also topped out at 340 grains and never saw the need for anything heavier.

I use some beartooth 340 gr bullets in 454. I run em uo over 1700 fps. I have recovered one but the way they hit im guessing i have to be getting some nose expansion. Inalso use the beartooth 280 gr wfn's. I run them around 1400 fps with hs6. Very mild and work very well.

Size with a rcbs sizing die and then when seating just start the roll crimp. Then do a hard heavy crimp with a lee factory crimp die. The 340's stay seated at that velocity. The key to not getting the dreaded crimp bulge is to expand the mouth very minimally. You should just barely be able to tell the mouth has been expanded. Barely.

My favorite hunting bullet for my FA 454 is a 325gr GC bullet sized to .452, I also use a fair amount of 300gr Hornady/Speer/Sierra bullets. I use a Redding profile crimp die as the final stage in my loading process.

Lee Precision cast bullet sizing dies that fit on your press. I have a .451" and .452" and .454"(when I sized .458" soft bullets in past). I recall having a .450" sizer for a FA that had really tight throats. Hardness is also a factor on springback. Nice thing about nose sizing is it seemed to size more even all around perimeter as noticed by even band. Now a fitted nose punch aligns better on base first sizing.

Can anyone recommend a source that has bullets to ship? You know, someone who's website shows actual inventory... unlike some companies I'm sure you've used where you order them and 2 to 9 months later they come. (and not companies that are priced higher than XTP's) (And yes... I do cast. But unlike some people, it's an activity I dislike. So I do it as sparingly as possible, only for the truly oddball or very large.)

Montana Bullet Works does unless you request a different BHN... 2 weeks or less and due to not casting as much as I used to I've been using them recently and couldn't be more pleased. Easy ordering too.
