I bet he muttered "kind" words under his breath the entire time he was chiseling on that steel! Who did the work?

on a blued gun, I'd probably say it was too much, but with the blackening on the engraving on the stainless gun... I think it looks pretty decent...

I have to say, I have only owned one FA revolver. I found the lockup to be like a bank vault, and accuracy to be limited only by my steady hand. My problem with FA is they have no soul. Unlike a blued gun, they show no character from usage. Kind of like a sterile surgical tool. extremely efficient yet not something to gaze upon for the beauty of it like a custom hunting knife. I am a huge fan of the gun, but not the cosmetics of it. Your gun, has made a believer out of me. From the octagon barrel to the grips and the engraving.....It is truly a thing of beauty
Now if you could just turn the hammer into a SBH style.......

Thanks!! It is my once in a life time revolver! Jack Huntington converted the mod 83 to 500jrh and Michael Gouse out of Montana did the engraving. I could not be happier!

That turned out gorgeous! I didn't know Gouse also did baked ink. Gives me an idear or two. Now you got me thinking about having him scratch up the stainless gun I have in the works.

I remember reading about the fact that you were going to do this. I kind of wondered.... But the baked ink reminds me of a Stainless bracelet that I made for my Daughter. I heated it to get the color change and the polished the parts I wanted shiny. Different procedure but same effect. The Octagon barrel, with the engraving on the front of it, and the sight base goes over the top. Micheal Gouse knocked this one out of the ball park. Field grade? This is a genuine BBQ gun NOW ! Bring it to Texas and after we eat BBQ we will shoot.
