All these tools appreciate a touch of chassis grease at the pressure point of moving parts. David Bradshaw

Lee Auto Prime here... Ran the first one for a couple of decades. Current have two. One for small, one for large... Pick up the shell holder set and some spare parts and never look back for hand priming. Dillon SDB, 550, and 1050 do most of my priming chores these days.

I agree Mr. Bradshaw, my original would be in better shape today if it would have had that treatment.

The handle on mine broke after about 10 years also. A buddy and I made a new handle out of steel and it is still working. I bought a new Lee and the handles are different. They say they are not compatible with the old one, but with a Dremal tool and small needle file they will work now. I like the old one better than the new square one.

I broke down and bought the Sinclair. Wanted something reminiscent of my father's old, sturdy hand primer. Couldn't find anything from RCBS or Lee that fit the bill... Boy does the Sinclair surpass expectations! I purchased it based on our Lee's (Martin) recommendation. I've also heard good things about the K&M.

I have 2 of the old Lee hand primer tools that use the threaded shell holders & like many I have all the shell holders I'll ever need. For those of you that can't get the primers to seat fully because the seater is worn just put a little dab of JB Weld, yes I use it for everything, on the worn end, let it dry over night & you're right back in business! I have no idea how long I've had mine, at least back into the 70's & they still work just fine. I also use my Dillon when necessary.
