sadly all I have right now are N frames but if I wind up making stocks for them i'll have to bring some other S&W guns home! What a horrible, terrible, no good thing to have to contemplate...

That thing may actually shoot better than a model 24, being custom and all.
I'd like to have a model 24 too though.

I was a little worried up until I started shooting it though. was scared it would wind up being a hack job somebody threw together in their garage or something.

the only real problem I see with it is the frame lug sits out far enough that it will block the rounds from ejecting if a case is lined up with the lug. not a real issue for hunting or range use but potentially a big problem in a self defense situation. looks like it only needs to be taken down a couple thousands to be free and clear so I may do that some time. My MMC conversion is the same.

There are some hack jobs out there. When the "Skeeter 44 Special" craze was going on, two enterprising individuals around my area got the Model 24 6 1/2" barrels and reamed the cylinders out on a drill press.... no joke there because I heard it out of both their mouths..... and inspected and shot a couple of their conversions. The cylinders insides looked like they were polished with about 220 grit aluminum oxide cloth. Reamer marks out the kazoo. They shot decently, but I couldn't bring myself to give up a nice S&W for them to do that to. A few years latter S&W made the real thing and I did partake of those.
