Surprise, surprise. A Smith I haven't had my hands on. It looks like a J frame with adjustable sights, square butt, and full lug. Now I'm off to compare to my other smith 22s. What is it that differentiates this model from the others?

thanks for the link to the kit gun story. It seems like I have its twin, the model 51 22mag. I also have several 34s that are terrific fun.
That sixgun is about as accurate as anything I have. The 51 has terrific balance. It's a real joy to shoot. I assume the 43 is similar.

Shame you haven't had a .22 revolver before now, now you'll know what you've been missing.

It's an entire world of its own, I get lost in it regularly.

I hunted down a Model 43 several years ago. Aluminum cylinder and frame. Nice and light but a terrible shooter. Crane to Frame fit was way out of spec. I traded it for a Model 36

Hands down one of my favorite revolvers.
