I realize it's not a bigbore or a .32 but I think it would be a darn fun and useful revolver so that's why I'm plugging it. I've been wanting this for years and every so often I go on a little mission to make it a reality. I pester Mr. Fifer and Jason at Lipsey's and ask everyone else to do the same. I never get much traction but I'm hopeful that it'll happen eventually.
I know we have some well connected folks here that have helped some other limited production guns get off the ground so I'm asking, how about a little squeeky wheel action for the .357 Blackhawk Hunter.
The .38Spl/.357Mag has got to be one of the most popular revolver rounds out there and truth told it's all most folks need in a handgun so why not throw us a bone and take our money? I'll buy two and I can't believe an initial production run wouldn't sell out pretty quick.
Thanks for listening.

It would be a fun one to shoot and the bigger variable handgun scopes would get shook up too bad on it.

Well now, I could surely toss it out to the "Ask the CEO" @ Ruger for you. Surely Can't hurt Why we're dreaming here, I wouldn't mind seeing a 327/32-20 conv. Bisley Hunter either, and something (Midsize Bisley FT, or Hunter) in 25-20... If'n anyone else here plans to put an "Ask the CEO" in maybe you could "Wish" for these for me as well Dream Big or Go Home! BigBore44

I too think it would sell. Personally I'd prefer it to be a resurrection of the 357 Maximum.....with a Bisley grip. I'm not holding my breath though.

Agreed, the Hunter model in 357 max would be a great platform. My hunting is almost all whitetail, and 357 mag is lighter than I'd prefer.
I think the standard grip for most mid and large frame Rugers should be the Bisley, but I'm definitely biased.

I hope they produce one and you're able to get 1 (or 2), but as much as I like the 357 and hunt deer with it almost exclusively, a Hunter would be a heavy gun to carry, especially scoped. The 41 Hunters are heavy enough, a 357 heavier still. Good luck and I hope Ruger hears you eventually.

Oh Yes, Please. and can I have some more.
Bigmuddy really has the 357 Hunter down when asking for that Maximum. It's a great piece of marketing to include a different target audience by just using a longer cylinder. Everybody's happy. Shoot what you like.
I'll commit to two right now.

A 357 Max Hunter would be SWEET! I've often hoped Ruger would someday resurrect the Maximum. There have been many technological advances in firearms materials and machining processes since the days of the original, and the powers that be at Ruger these days do seem to be more open minded about such things.

I can't see the max happening guys. A .357 Magnum would be easy for them to do and the costs would be minimal, a max would be a complete one off project that would cost a lot of time and money not to mention the fact that nobody even makes ammo for it and cases for loading are even hard to find.
The .357 Magnum is one of the (if not the) most popular revolver rounds available today as well as being about as easily obtained as water. The gun would have an already dedicated and very large pool of potential buyers so it should be an easy sell. Sales is what drives new products and I can see no negatives to this one.
bisleyfan 41- Yep, it'd be a tad on the heavy side but I don't see that as a negative for a scoped revolver. Most people don't shoot offhand with a scope and weight is a good thing from a rested position. As for carrying while hunting, a .357 Hunter would still be way lighter than every .357Mag rifle I've ever owned so it's a win.

FWIW, a stainless bisley Maximum, paired with Carpenter steel 5-shot cylinders would open up a whole new world of factory-built hand cannons to the general public. Think 357, 41, 44, 45 and 475 Maximum guns. Sounds pretty cool, right? I think so too, but it's the little details that keep it dead in the water... and always will...

I get it, the Max is a great round and I can get brass the same place I can get it for .38 long Colt, doesn't mean anybody is tooling up to make new revolvers for it. How about we work with what we have? Heck, it was hard enough to get Ruger to make a Blackhawk in their own proprietary cartridge. The .357 Mag is a staple and it should be available in more platforms.

From a practical point of view, a .357 Magnum Bisley Hunter makes sense and I think would sell well. Not a bad idea at all.
Am I the only one that thinks a .50 caliber Bisley Hunter would be just awesome? I'll state I'd like it in .500 JRH. What say you guys?

I think you stand a much better chance of seeing a .454 or .480 long before a .50. They've already done the work on the platform so the only change would be the barrel.
