Very nice! A long Bearcat is on my list, I've wanted one ever since I saw the photo on page 172 of Mr Taffin's "Single Action Sixguns".

O MY. Barrel specifications if you please. Who made it from what and what is the front sight ? I've never seen a long barrel/custom barrel bearcat and the windage movement ability is soooo right.

Turned out nice! Your pic definitely shows off the gun better, and I really like the stags. Good call on having the cylinder fluted. I may have to steal that! I still haven't gotten around to making my grips and I haven't shot any magnums still. My 4 year old daughter loves knowing it's hers. We shot it and one of the newer (stock) blue shopkeepers this weekend. The blue is destined for an octagon barrel, dovetail sight, CCH, BP chamfered cylinder, stocks, and action work. Did you use the Bowen ERH? Basepin?

These are Great looking little sixguns! It's funny though, due to the small frame/size of these, I'd swear the bbl's were about 6.5"-7.5" Very nice... BigBore44

BB44, the idea was to get the proportions of a 7.5 inch barrel Colt Lightning. Glad your eyes see it as intended! morphyauctions.hibid.com/lot/31120-21695-76211/colt-lightning-model-1877-/Looking again, fluting was 100% the way to go. Squawberryman, did you have David to anything to the rear sight notch? I'm finding that it probably needs to be blackened to bring out the full potential of that sight setup. My blue model has a much clearer rear sight, but that polished, rounded front sight really throws off the picture compared to David's front sight.

No work to the rear. Yeah it could be blackened. Grips by Zane, basepin by Kelye, Bowen ERH

I keep looking between the 2 guns, but can't tell... then i see the extra cylinder with the Judge's gun... So are these 5 or 6 shot conversions? I was thinking the guns Alan did were 5 shots. They're gorgeous revolvers any way you look at them.
Are these in the $2k range on your own gun, or a bit more than that?

Mine's a stock 6 shot. He removed the roll markings on the cylinder, cut flutes and a front chamfer. Replace barrel, action job, new erh, basepin. 895.00 on my gun. It's on his website. The rear adjustable sight was just too much. El Paso did the leather and kinda strongly questioned a Bearcat shopkeeper with a 5.5" barrel, they called to double check. Thanks potatojudge for the idea. PS, that was taken with my phone
