I've had 4-5 dual cylinder .22/.22 Mag S-Ss and only The Hunter Model shot decently with the Long Rifle cylinder...

Yep, that's another factor to consider and this one keyholed at 25yds until I realized it was a Magnum cylinder, not a LR like I was told when I bought it.

On the 22/22Mag tale... In an ideal arrangement the 22LR and 22 Mag barrel are NOT the same. Early on Ruger made 22 Mag Single Sixes with 22 Mag barrels. After those they went convertible and use a one size fits all size. Buy the traditional "convertible" and shooting or not shooting with either cylinder is a crap shoot.

I had one S-S that was one of the limited edition stainless steel 4 5/8" guns with a * stamped in front of the triggerguard. These were supposedly barreled for .22 LR and only had the one fluted cylinder in .22 LR. It shot WAY better than the convertible I had at the time. Ended selling them all off and just keeping the 7.5" stainless steel Hunter which shoots excellent with both cylinders.
One wouldn't think that the bore difference from .2225 to .224 would make much difference but apparently it does in the S-S. I've had several dual cylinder S&W Model 48s and they have all been very accurate with both cylinders.

Got out for a short time at the range yesterday with the new SP-101/.327. With the FA 120 grain/8.5 AA7 load it was nothing to shoot. The first two rounds DA went through the same hole high and a little left. Moved the rear sight over 3/4 of a turn and it shot center of target but is about 2.5" high from POA probably because of the heavier than factory standard bullet weight...
Ejection was smooth and showed no pressure signs. Same load in the LCR was a little sticky upon ejection.
