Thanks for all the kind comments.
Bob, I cast my own and Veral made that mold to keep as much of the bullet out of the case as practical. Its a LBT 250 WFN-GC and I use it with either 8 grains of Winchester WSF or 8.5 grains of Herco. WSF averages 986 fps and WSF averages 979 fps.

Nice cat, nice gun! I love the S&W 625's. I have the 4" version, would love one of those 5 inchers. I use mine for IDPA.

Nice cat! I was fortunate to hunt cats in Idaho in 2014 and we took a big tom on Dec 27. I could go the rest of my life just being along and watching and hearing the hounds do the work they love. Nothing else like it.

That's a big ole cat and he don't look real happy about being in that tree. I've never been on a hunt like that but I imagine one might better be able to cover some country to keep up. That's a big ole slug too. Looks like you paid your dues in preparation with your ammunition and fitness. Congrats! Well done!!

That is awesome! Congrats on a beautiful lion! Lion hunting is on my bucket list. Yeah, I just hope I am not dragging my bucket with me when it finally happens. Tried twice here in Texas and it didn't materialize.
Congrats on that cat,,, totally awesome. I like that ammo too. That bullet looks very effective, and it obviously worked.

Did you have much room left in the cylinder with those heavy boolits? I often wondered how big a shooter a go in the short 625 cylinder.

When Veral at LBT made the mold he said he would put as much of the bullet outside the case as possible. With him doing that there is still plenty of room left in the cylinder.

Thanks for answering. Any issues with using the AR brass in your 625?

gjn; What a terrific report complete with excellent photos! I am a big fan of the .45ACP/.45 Auto Rim revolver. I have a pair of 625's. That bullet looks a dandy to maximize the .45 Auto Rim.
Thanks for sharing this with us!!

Thanks Dale. No issues at all using 45 AR brass in the 625. Get a good crimp and works like a charm.

Awesome! I thought about using my 625 using 45 ACP with a good JHP.
