Those rubber grips look interesting. Can they be fitted on the "older" BFR? I have an older 475/480 with the buggly massive rubber ones.

JRH mod was 350 or thereabout and I have just received mine back. The Grips are great - he's only using wood at present, but they look fantastic. I am not sure about all BFR's and barrel length, but this one is quoted as having a 5" barrel; it is actually 4.5". 45coltsaa.shutterfly.com/

Whats the beef about the hammer? Looks fine to me. The new model has an upward sweep to it - The old model has that easy laid-back SBH hammer -

Hmmm.... For those of us with big mitts, those new Hogues might not be so bad!

I understand that these are great guns and a great value for what they cost but to me that looks like a firearm designed by a committee. One guy designed the front sight, someone else did the hammer and a third person designed the gripframe then all three people stuck their idea on a great gun. Luckily we have options and taste is a personal thing. No insult meant to any BFR owners or the company but it reminds me of the reaction to guns that originate in Flagstaff. They may shoot great a couple be a great value but they hold no interest gor me. Obviously just my opinion.

Now I see what you guys are talking about concerning the hammer. Guess I would have to actually try one before judging it.

Okay... I really like that! Well, except the hammer. Other than that it looks right up my alley just how I feel.....
