A Lock equipped .41 Mag Mountain Gun was NEARLY sacrificed to make the gun below. 629 with model 28 CCH hammer & trigger. (the target chromed lockwork from the 629 moved to a 29, target CCH lockwork from 29 moved to 28, 28 is getting a rebored 6" barrel in .41 - it's a process). The barrel from the lock equipped Model 57 Mountain gun went here, along with a Model 357 Titanium cylinder from Numrich. The original steel cylinder from the 57 was also fit the the 629. Mahovsky did the hard chrome, Culina did the grips. Turns out the 57 Mountain gun was still in the running. I decided to sacrifice a 58 on the .44 mag altar with a rebored 520 barrel, and the original barrel was available. What better place to put it than the lock equipped 57? Another visit to Numrich picked up another Ti cylinder, and here we go. The front sight came off an Outdoorsman barrel (also Numrich) The weight are within ounces (629/57 MG 36.8 oz, 57/58 37.5 oz)

So cool! I always like seeing the custom single actions on this forum but there's something about custom double actions that jump at me a bit more. I have a few nutty conversion ideas running through my mind and these two customs of yours help me realize that it just might be possible. I very ignorant about such things and using a titanium cylinder would never have crossed my brain. Thanks for sharing your pistolas, ideas and results. Good stuff!!
