What are you doing about sights? JRH is going to install a dovetail front. I am going to print out the photo of your dovetail sight and probably the dovetail sight referenced above (Dustin Linebaugh) and let them decide. As long as the blade shape is similar to the photos, I will be happy. They may need to widen the rear, but I don't want a set of sights that are thick as a Glock's. I can't see irons quite as well as I could, but I can still see quite well. I don't want or need a chunk fitted between a ravine...

Groo here Andy Horvath did mine [Ohio]. If you don't need a full adj sight, go to Freedom Arms. They have a dove tail front sight with set screw. Also in various sizes.

I think something like this would be great on a woods gun provided it can be had narrow enough to work with the rear notch of fixed sight SA's.

I did look at the XS dovetail front sight, but ordered (and received already) a Freedom Arms dovetail. Off to JRH the Vaquero goes late this week. I'll have the grip reduction/modification and a set of walnut grips fitted. The revolver doesn't need anything else really, but may have them recrown and recut the forcing cone. The revolver doesnt have many rounds through it, but the forcing cone (looked at with a Hawkeye) isn't perfect. Not an expensive thing to have done and it will be there anyway.
A not really off topic subject, but it isn't cheap to ship a handgun for work! I have a good friend that is my FFL that could ship it, but don't like asking for favors.
