Good score. About 20 years ago I stopped at a small town newspaper on a whim and walked out with 996 pounds of linotype. For 10 cents a pound. They were planning on going to the dump with it the next week.

Likewise...I bought a couple of tons for 12 cents a pound. My boss at the time bought a 2 acre lot with a small block shed on it. A couple weeks after he bought it, we broke the lock off and voila! Gray treasure! The guy who owned the local paper back in the day piled all his typesetting stash in it. Made a lot into ingots, sold it, traded it and when I moved, moved the bulk, but left 4 5gal buckets sitting in the tool shed...too exhausted to move it. I probably still have a "lifetime" supply left...but then. I'm 68...that could mean next week. ;-) I generally mix 4 parts WW with 1 part lino. Works great for an unscientific mix.
