Thanks for the tips! Just sent the payment for an order from Smoke on Castboolits and about to look at powder by the pound.
I ended up getting the Lee 38cal 158gr SWC TL, the Lee 9mm 124gr TC TL, and the Lee 45cal 230gr TC TL, along with the .358, .356, and the .452 push through sizers with the intentions of using them for experimenting with powder coating.

Tek4260, I ordered my powder through Smoke also. I bought a small Hornady tumbler just to use for powder. Put the bullets in and sprinkle a couple teaspoons of powder over them and turn it on. I find after 10-15 minutes they are coated really well. Come out the oven very nice.

Yep, I was going to start simple and coat by hand with a cool whip tub and airsoft bb's. But, after ordering powder I started watching YouTube videos and ended up ordering another tumbler just for coating. Then I went to the shed and realized I had thrown out the old toaster oven when we moved. Gotta get another next trip to town.
I figured I'd stop watching videos and reading about it while I was ahead somewhat. If I didn't, I'd have ended up with a spray gun and a PID ordered within the hour.

I recently started using the super durable black from powder buy the pound. I have to be a little more careful with this than the HF red. When just dumping these onto a tray to cook I had some that would not separate. This stuff definitely coats better.

Sounds like something I'd do also.

I also found it works better to stand them up with the powder I'm using. If they took they will stick. Even though they are still warm it will take coating off. Just easier to stand them.

Looks good! You took the time to stand them all up? I just dump them on the sheet and make sure that they are not piled on top of each other. Ronnie

I have read that a number of very successful and respected shooters are quite impressed with the PC process. Claims are made about how easy it is and how well it works. I really do believe them. Some of the proponents are the most respected folks I know. But, I must be missing something. I use the same Lyman 450 to lube and size my bullets that I have used for the last 30 years -- pretty simple -- push the bullet through the die and done. PC on the other hand requires coating the bullet, standing them up on a cookie sheet, baking them, separating them and then pushing them through the same sizing die. Obviously I am missing something.
