i started writing the script for GUN STORIES WITH JOE MSNTEGNA's new season. We're doing a show on embellished firearms, and it got me thinking about my infinitely long delayred BBQ gun project.
Years back I had Hamilton Bowen build me a 38-40 N-Frame on an As New In Box Highway Patrolman, which we filmed for SHOOTING GALLERY. Plan was engraving, carved leather holster, ivories. obviously, I missed the ivory train, but am looking for an engraver now that Dan Love's out of the business.
you guy's recommendations"
thanks!

You might still find a pair of ivories; S&W forum would be the place to look. For engraving, I've seen some very nice work from Michael Gouse in Montana. By the way, listening to the Down Range Radio podcast right now; love the eclectic music mix. www.gousefreelancefirearmsengraving.com

John Pease does some nifty work. Here's a link to the Firearms Engraver's Guild list of Master Engravers: www.fega.com/MemberWebPages/MasterPage1.asp Take it for what it's worth. Another home run podcast. It got the gears grinding, slowly.

Brian Powley will be engraving the USFA lightweight Hamilton is building for me. He is listed on the engravers guild site as well.

You might check out Jere Davidson. He was an engraver for Colt and has done work for Dakota. He engraved my 29 and applied the 2 gold bands and front sight. He doesn't have a web site but his email is jere@centralva.net By the way, pre-ban ivory is still legal to work with except in NY, NJ, WA and starting July 1 CA
