Nice! There's something perfect about those heavy barreled 6" guns - my M57 from that same period is just right for hunting. I bet you will be very happy with that revolver; mine is a "never sell" gun. Here's my 25-5 with smooth grips: I've shown it before, but the gun is not shy. -- Brian

Hi Mark, they were fashioned by Roy Fishpaw out of really fancy walnut. Very slender through the top, thicker through the bottom, and they fit my hand like a glove. Sadly, he is not making grips for "new" customers any longer.

Brionic Yes I know of Roy Fishpaw. I did not know he was not taking on any new customers. Very nice looking grips. Thank you for your reply. Mark

rigby,
What do the throats measure on that gun? I just stumbled onto one of the anniversery guns, a 25-3 I believe, that I am debating. I need to head back with a couple of bullets to see what the throats measure.

Hey Boxhead, I havent check it but my they are smaller then my .452 LFNs. According to Linebaugh the post pin barrels have proper sized throats where the pin barrels have over sized throats.

An OT question. Is the M25 cylinder the same length as a M29 cylinder or ?

Those are the only factory S&W wood grips that ever fit my hand right. Beautiful looking 25-5.

I have a 6" 25-5 with "normal throats" and an 8 3/8" unit with the large throats. I reload for both and they both shoot great!! Beautiful gun. If you decide to sell those stocks...I'd sure like to hear from you!!
