Yes, but a 1.4" S&W case, 500 JRH without the rim being trimmed down. Both of my .500 JRHs accept the larger rim.

Just saw this post - if it were me, I'd work on getting the flat top donor guns. They used to be all over gunbroker, and now they aren't so much....not sure what kind of plans Ruger has for these - might be a long term thing, I have no idea. But I would be trying to get them as soon as possible - then you won't end up spending 50-100% more later on if they end up being harder to find.
I don't know much about ordering custom guns - I'll be getting my first back in "a couple weeks" - I'm excited....need to start trimming my brass!
All your ideas sound great. The main thing is to pick something and go for it! (I think....)

After some soul searching I've decided to scrap the ovate barrel idea for now if I can't get the pre-war rear to match. I'm going with a 4" light weight style gun and the dovetailed front. I'll do an ovate eventually but I'm a real sucker for short barrels and Bisley grips.

After going through a lot of pictures and ideas I'm going to have David do my Bisley along the lines of his Ermine conversion pictured below, I believe this belongs to one of our forum members but I can't remember who. I found the picture in the Custom Bisley Inspiration thread. Differences will be a crescent ejector, Sheriff's style locking pin, scalloped gate and shield, and a FA style round butt with Buckeye burl grips. I'm very excited!

As a 500 JRH? Should be a hoot to shoot! and looks beautiful even as someone else's gun
