Here is something to look at and discuss. Specs: 0.258" diameter, meplat to crimp = 0.26", crimp to base = 0.170".... all gathered from SS cylinder length and the Jackrabbit case drawing. Guesstimates at what you want right now. Bullet base does not intrude into powder cavity. Some feedback would be appreciated....................

Could you design a PC specific cast bullet? Without a lube grove?

I have no dog in the fight, and will probably never own a .257 Jackrabbit. I'm just curious since this PC thing is such a craze- perhaps we could do away with the lube grove on some cast bullet designs...

I'd be interested in both HP and Solid, for a .25 cal air gun. No gas check of course.

I am going to need one of each plain and flat base designs. My first instinct was the proven 640 nose shape. But upon reflecting on this for some time, I wonder if a miniature 429215 GC design wouldn't be as good or better and might be better suited for the shorter Single Six cylinder. Just a thought.

Let me explain some 2Dogs. That is a 640 nose......... to fit the SS cylinder/cartridge constraints. The meplat is quite close to the end of the cylinder and the bullet base is at the base of the neck. It fits the 25-20 and 256 Win Mag cartridges also. I started this style nose (which I dubbed the 640) some time ago with BRP molds. About 4 people know what makes it that kind of nose since it is designed to self-align. The 327 Ferminator (as you guys call it) also has the 640 nose constraints. I hope you've found them very accurate. This isn't a GB yet either..............

I am a HUGE fan of the 640 nose style, and yes, they have proven indeed accurate across the board, and that is not just the 640 style bullet the guys call the Ferminator. More, I have total faith in your ability to draw a bullet that will be very successful. Here is a pic of a group I shot with a very fine sixgun I built around your Sledgehammer design....

OK guys, it seems we have some interest in this..... enough to warrant a GB, BUT before that happens confirm the crimp groove to meplat dimensions fits your gun for me please. That dimension is 0.260". This design has a 62% bearing length, so it should shoot fine. In addition to what is shown, I plan to have a cup HP also on it.
2 Dogs..... The 640 part of the nose design happens in front of the crimp groove to where the rifling stops touching the bullet, the details are proprietary and don't show on a jpeg when posted on the net. Too many copiers on another site to do that.
As far as having a straight sided design.... I wonder greatly just how many would want one. It leaves out the folks that want a conventional GG design, so you guys that want to powder coat, just order the plain base one..... from the shooting people here do with powder coat, we know they work fine.
When the GB happens, it will be a Miha mold..... probably offered as a 3 cavity cramer on the two cavity brass blocks.

How would this bullet work in a Marlin 1894CL 25-20?
Thanks BigBore44

How would this bullet work in a Marlin 1894CL 25-20? Thanks BigBore44 The reloading manual cartridge specs show a end of neck to maximum OAL of the cartridge as 0.262". It should fit fine, especially if you trim your brass. Some folks should have the Marlin 256 Win. Mag rifles that should fit also.
