Kind of funny how Glenn came to get that gun. A friend of mine works for the local police department and he told me they were getting ready to sell some confiscated firearms and this was one of the guns. I had just started thinking about handgun hunting and had read several articles about the Kelly family and their work developing the Stalker and Predator series of hunting revolvers. I ended up buying this gun from the police department sale and sent it right off to Magna-port for their revolver magic. T'SOB mount, sling studs, action job, porting, the whole nine yards. I used it that fall for elk hunting while the gun shot great, I was not as familiar with different carry methods as I am now and I got extremely frustrated dong my normal sneak and creep still hunting for elk in the thick stuff with a 10" SBH. I remember trying to ease it out from under my wool coat to take a shot a nice big cow and all the movement, no matter how slow, caught her eye and resulted in her vacating the "kill zone" where I stuck the bullet by about 5 feet and off she went unscathed. I have to admit it was very maddening to see her take off and find no blood nor hair since that was the first elk I had ever shot at that had not been dropped.
Once I got home I wrapped the barrel in an old leather glove, stuck it between two blocks of wood and clamped it down tight in the vise. A wooden hammer handle now has a few creases due to the force that was needed to unscrew the barrel. That is how the long tube became available on the RF and thus the start of a long friendship with Glenn and his family over the ensuing years.

Hot Super Vel ammo out of a "hot" Super Blackhawk? Priceless! Nice job GS! I have some Hawk 350gr JHP's moving out of the 9" 475. Should be equally dramatic
