Joe.... good show. The rear sight you pulled out of your fur has an 1/8" (.125") notch, superior to the .140" notch Ruger likely will send you. David Bradshaw

For me, I always find it best to try different blades. Different size notches, black, white outline, etc.
In the end, I usually end up defining superior as the one that works best for my eyes and intended target/game.
The front sight width is relevant to length of barrel (distance from eye). But, your mileage may vary.

My buddy fanofthefortyone loaned me his pin gauges. I got a consistent 5 holer, if i did it right. Loaded some 20 gr of WW296 loads with 400 gr cast boolits. At 25 they shoot great! Trigger needs smoothing out. That's what I'm blaming the poor 50 yd performance on. It cant be that I was tired. I loaded more ammo to try at 50. I seem to like the SWC better so gonna try that first. Here is 25 yd groups. LBT style gas checked 5 shots. The circled holes were made by the last 4 Hornady Customs i had. SWC not checked are the non circled holes. First shot was WAY HIGH, so i cranked the rear sight down and it still shot 7" high. Gonna try to install a Sixshot sight to see how it does.

Glad you got your gun & good shooting Joe. We are also making a .390" front sight for those guys shooting the heavier bullets. Most have been ok with the .370" but some that go with the heavy weights need this taller one.

That old blade adds instant character. . You will like Dick's front blade too. Beautifully done. Oh... and good shooting!
