The 257 Jackrabbit- New Speed Threshold!

Ok, we are a bit under the gun on this project as I need to try to finish up the load work, photos, and text for Taffin's upcoming book on small bores so this particular gun did not receive alot of extra attention as to embellishment. No shortcuts were taken in regards to accuracy. We did try a new flute style ala Merwin and Hulbert. The stocks shown are from Hartons shop just for the photo op. The 257 Jackrabbit shown here does have a longer oversize 6 shot cylinder, tiered front sight, oversize bolt, action job, and a straight taper 7.5" custom barrel. Test target shown was shot by Harton at 25 yards and shows the first 3 shot group out of the 257JR. The test load was 8.5 grains of H110 and a Hornady 60 grain jacketed bullet. Harton really liked the cartridge and feels it may well be a game changer. He reports perfect function, no case set back, mild recoil and excellent accruracy.

What is the parent cartridge? I have a Bowen OMBH in 25-20 that is lots of fun to shoot.

I really like the front sight A lot. I wish all my Rugers had that instead of the ramps...

I'd like to have a 25-20 sixgun one day.
