Had one just like it... 69 Grain Sierra Match King with 26.0 grains of Winchester 748 seated to that the base of the bullet shank is even with the bottom of the case neck. Lightly crimp with a Lee Factory Crimp Die so the bullet will stay in place while cycling.
Don't bother scoping that upper...you'll have to get a snap on cheek riser. But all you have to do is push two pins, pull off the upper and you can then put any configuration upper on you want... Get a full flat top...as in no rear sight or fixed front if you want to run a scope...
I hated ARs when I first shot them...and then I tried a M4 Carbine after they came out and enjoy them now. Also have a 16" heavy barrel with a 1-9 twist that is a tack driver with 69-75 grain bullets...
