I bought one of the Lipsey's .357/9mm Convertibles (Thank You Jason!!)when they first came out and love it. It's the 5.5" blued model and it won't be going anywhere but I just couldn't get the stainless 4-5/8" out of my head so I had my dealer order me one up even though I was saving for something else. Picked it up this morning and I was right, it is the right one for me!! Fit and finish are wonderful and while I have the original anniversary flat top that should be the same gun only in blue, this stainless one just speaks to me. Got it home and was doing the normal clean up and going over when the serial number jumped out at me. Last five digits are 38357!! The .357 Magnum is my favorite round of all time and the Ruger Blackhawk is my favorite gun of all time and to get this serial number on a .357 Blackhawk is a pretty amazing coincidence. I'll be shooting it tomorrow morning and if it shoots as good as the 5.5" I'll be in .357 heaven.

I have the same gun and I feel the same as you. It is the first 357 mag that really appeals to me. I had Patrick Grasshorn make some Elk antler grips for mine.

Those grips look great. I had Patrick do the ones on my Daughters Bearcat and he does extremely nice work. I'm thinking a nice aged ivory Micarta on this gun. I've had black but never the aged Ivory, I think it'll look very good with the stainless.

You can take that on your travel to the East. I have one also and had the 9mm cylinder converted to 357/44 Bain and Davis ;-)

My 9mm cylinder is h to Gary Reeder to be rechambered to 356 GNR. A 41 Mag necked down to take 357 bullets.

I bought a 5.5" Friday & while logging my 38163 s/n I paused to think how neat it would be for the number to be 38357. Glad to see it came to someone who appreciates it.

Had a great morning at the range, 38357 shot very well with my plinking loads as I didn't have anything else on hand. It actually shot very well with some 115gr ball 9mm as well. I'm well pleased with this single action and plan to shoot the heck out of it. I'm not convinced I like the slim fit grips so they will probably get replaced and an action job is in its future. The .356GNR may be an option on one of the two flat top convertibles I now have, I'd be interested to see how it works out for you encore64.

Have the 480 Super Blackhawk project in front, then the 356 GNR conversion and 454 Super Blackhawk will be sent at the same time.
I will post the results.

I'm really thinking about a flat top 357 is next in line for me! As for your unique serial #, my dad bought my little sister a glock 42. My sister's name is Abby and after my Dad bought the glock, he noticed on the way home that the first 4 digits of the serial number on it are ABBY. How crazy is that?! Crazy coincidence.

That does look really good. I'm thinking I need to add one to my "want list". So now are you looking for a 44 with the serial 44429?
