I was only able to look at the pictures yesterday from my phone. Just looked again on a bigger screen on the home computer. Stunning work. Very nice. I like the way Mr. Gallagher "sloped" the front of the top strap to line up with the top of the octagon barrel. Bravo!

Johnn Gallagher is the other gunsmith I was thinking of earlier. He uses a different adjustable rear sight, too, as does Hamilton Bowen. Both are swamped with work and have long wait times. I see Gallager's website is down. I'm guessing he has more work than ever and doesn't need the website anymore. Here's a link to a picture on the website for Bowen Classic Arms of the sight I am thinking about. www.bowenclassicarms.com/workshop.htmlClick on the line, or scroll down, for the Retro .38-40 Vaquero. In my mind, that's a beautiful job and the ultimate rear sight setup.
