Thanks guys, I really appreciate your comments. I wasn't sure if any of you would be interested in the "non-hunting" photos but apparently some of you do so I'll share a few more. One morning, while we were in Capetown we took a ride to Table Mountain. From this building, you take a cable car ride to the top of the mountain: View of the coastline from the top of Table Mountain: And a view of the landscape at the top of Table Mountain: On the way back to the waterfront from Table Mountain, we snapped a few photos of the famous Bo-Kaap area. Bo-Kaap is the spiritual home of the Cape’s Muslim community. Thanks again for your comments guys, I've enjoyed sharing these photos and stories with you!

One day we took a tour of Table Mountain National Park. We stopped at the Cape of Good Hope: The shoreline at the Cape of Good Hope: Then we took the short drive to Cape Point. Saw some ostriches along the way: I also saw eland for the first time: We hiked up to the lighthouse: The Cape of Good Hope as seen from the trail to the lighthouse on Cape Point: View of Cape Point from the lighthouse:

We also toured Boulders Beach near Simon Town. There has been a colony of African penguins at Boulders Beach since 1985. There is no record of the birds having lived here prior to that date, so their decision to settle in an area already well-utilized by humans is remarkable. You take a boardwalk down to the beach to visit with the penguins: This was a neat experience. OK, I'll quit posting pics now. Thanks again for your comments guys! Darrell H

Please keep posting. I doubt I will ever make it to SA, so I am loving this thread.

Thanks again for your comments guys! I'm glad that you have enjoyed the photos and reading about the trip. I've sure enjoyed sharing them with you. Fantastic write-up and photos DH! Thanks for taking us along So what's next? Hmmm...not sure. The planets and stars would have to align properly but Lord willing, I'd like to return to Australia to have one more go at these guys: Even though Matt Graham of Hunt Australia was kind enough to let me use his personal 450 NE double rifle after the airlines lost my bag (along with the ammo that we needed to make this a handgun hunt), I would still like to hunt an Australian water buffalo with a revolver. They have a 454 SRH and a 44 Mag Redhawk in camp and there is plenty of room for you too. I'm sure that Miss Carla could make it without you for a few days. What do ya think?

Congrats, Darrell! Fantastic write up, as always. That's an amazing story about the eland; its hard to believe it didn't die with that shot. You took a great nyala and Impala, as well! I do believe I'd had to try that baboon...lol. Thanks for sharing.
