I believe New Braunfels was the closest location to you.

Can anybody say how far south John Linebaugh has done one of his seminars? He almost had one in North Carolina a few years ago but couldn't drum up enough interest to make it happen -- unfortunately.

I had the opportunity to spend a couple of hours with John at his shop last summer. I learned more in that two hours than in months of reading. He is a genuine good guy and his ability to share his passion for the Ruger single action is extraordinary. I've never been to his seminar but I can only assume it would be more of the same.

Linebaugh had one of his seminars in Tennessee a few years ago. It was held about 50 miles from me. Since I had a Linebaugh gun(.475L), I was all excited to go. The problem was the local contact. I tried half a dozen times to contact him and except for one time, all I got was a recording that was definitely a put off and no result from the message left. The one time someone answered, it was apparently his wife and she told me in no uncertain term to quit bothering them. I guess I had no name recognition and wasn't welcome.

I guess you have to be "Somebody" to go to these events??? I have the BigBore show recorded on my DVR. Maybe it's not a public event? I have to say though, your comment just put a bad taste in my mouth! I can't believe you got a reply like that. I'm sorry for you and would like to know more about the reason that happened. I realize anyone can have a bad day but, C'mon now, that doesn't make for good business, Especially with word of mouth these days along with the internet! BigBore44

BigBore44, My post was not to criticize John Linebaugh. I'm somewhat familiar with the folks in Union City, TN, having grown up in the same county(been gone over 50 yrs). That town has or had more than it's share of A$$Ho!ës. A few good folks too.
As I recall, John held his seminar there to honor a long time customer. This gentleman(my understanding is that he was deserving of the description) was in his eighties at that time. May be long gone by now. I hope that my comment has no reflection on Linebaugh Custom Sixguns or John himself.

Alamo I understand, and I didn't really mean it to come off as criticism either. It just took me by surprise what you said. I would love to get to one of these here seminars one day, and I also hope to someday have something built or worked on by John...

I'm getting too old to travel long distances by car and I'm too tall to sit in the abbreviated seats on a plane. I also hope you can treat yourself to a Linebaugh gun. I bought mine "used" but described as unfired. I found no evidence of firing but I'm not an expert. I've been very well pleased although I've not fired many full power loads. As time goes by, my ability to hold onto the gun with a full load diminishes. As it is, I use one of those "hand squeezers" to maintain grip strength.
