Awesome hunting story, and a great time with your boy. Thanks for sharing the details about the load and your Leupold sight. Great stuff all around!

Wish I could see one of the Delta Points up close & personal. I just bought another one of the Ultra Dots since my eyes are changing so much but the dot doesn't look round & thats with my glasses on or off. Probably not the fault of the dot, just me but mine looks like it has 2 tiny legs on it instead of being round. Anyone else having the same problem with the red dots? Would much rather stay with iron sights but 70 yrs old & diabetes changes the rules. Dick That is likely astigmatism in your dominant eye. I have the same issue with red dots, although it's worse on some days than others. I don't have enough that the eye doc thinks I should go through the hassle of having special lenses (I wear contacts) to correct it. I just use the brightest part of the dot. One thing I found that does make the dot perfectly round and crystal clear is to use a pinhole aperture over my dominant eye. I tested this by taking a piece of electrical tape, poking a small hole in it, and placing it on my shooting glasses. I was shocked at how well that worked to crispen the dot, as well as give amazing depth of focus. Obviously, this is not practical for a field situation, but you might give it a test next time on the range. If your astigmatism is uncorrected, you might want to ask the doctor about some lenses that will lessen or eliminate it.
