Yum ! Moose may be my favorite game meat. I've never hunted them, but have run into them in N. Ontario while bear hunting , and again in Yellowstone and near Tetons. BIG critters ! Start a fire, and just eat it right there. LOL. Ok, so without ATV or larger equipment, ya gotta bone it out right there, into packable size portions. Congrats.

Hi all Moose hunting in Sweden is a group effort, were i hunt we are 12 hunters and for the moment 3 dogs So there is not really a problem getting the animal out of the woods. Below is a picature of the contraption we use too haul moose. This year we are aloud too shoot 5 adults and 5 calfs. Happy hunting to you all

Hi Snyd Great picatures! There is no rules about how much you have too take out from the woods. We generaly leave the innards, exeption is if we suspect that it has been hit in the guts, then we hang it from the hind legs before opening up and gutting. After season ends thre is usually a buyer that comes along and collekts the hides the rest gets bruned so we donĀ“t atract bears ond other predators. Happy hunting

Mathias... We are required to salvage all edible meat which includes meat off the neck, ribs, brisket and flank. Not required to salvage organ meat or the hide. We can go back afterwards and shoot bear or other predators off the gut pile.
cmillard... Still trying to connect with the 45 Colt. No luck this year. In fact it wasn't a true handgun hunt. My freezer needed filling so I packed the rifle along. Good thing too, this guy was out of handgun range for me (150 yds) and on the move. 325wsm took care of him.

It countinues too be a good seson for me. This happend last saturday, we were going through ouer second area and i was trying to thaw by the fire (it had been -4 C in the morning) and merrily chiping away on a pice of wood not really thinking there would come anything my way. Suddenly i hear a branch snap, as i look upp i see the head of a cow apper throug the woods across the canal, by the time i lifted my rifle this calf had apeard and taken a few steps into the water, giving me a clear shoot behind the shoulders. When i fired she jumped into the water and started across but did not make all the way over. Using a rope and a stone i i got her ashore and with the help of a comrade we got her out and field dressed. Weighing in at 88 kilo, skinned and quarterd it was a good sized calf. Hapy hunting and thanks for reading my ramblings Mathias
