Been trying to hunt one of these down forever it seems. I don't buy guns online and have to either trade or sell when I get a new one. The bane of being poor. I've owned a plethora of 4 and 6 inch GP's over the years, but the 3 incher has always been a grail gun of sorts. I'd gone into one of the LGS's with the intent of getting a S&W Shield and sure enough I saw this sitting there. They'd just gotten it in. All thoughts of the Shield went out the window immediately. Found a nice stump the other day that'd been torn into by one of our local bruins for a backstop. First thing, the Hogues had to go. I've got a couple sets of the factory compacts laying around just waiting for the opportunity to use again. Stripped it down and did some action work. Smooth as Louisiana sweet tea. For me, the perfect packin' pistol...

You're right! A great packin piece for almost all situations. A Meprolight night sight for a P95 would pin there rather handily. My primary and secondary handguns have night sights and I am totally spoiled.

Always thought that would be a neat start for a Fitz Spl.

I just bought a 3 inch GP late this spring after a long wait. Put a Gemini customs gold dot front sight on it. Much easier to see for my aging eyes. I also replaced the monogrip with the old Ruger rubber grips- wish Ruger still used them.
I think I found wheel gun perfection.

Lemat, Very nice. Thanks for posting. My buddy has a simlar one, and I can shoot it pretty well, even with aging eyes. My 6" bbl. GP-100 is one of my favorites, but yours is easier to pack around. David

Great picture! My first carry gun was a 3" SP101 in .357. I think the GP would be just a little better for that role. I want a 5 shot .44 Special but one of those in a 6 shot 10mm would be sweet also.

I agree, that is just about a perfect DA revolver. Sweet.

Nice lookin' Ruger! The three inch GPs are my favorite barrel length as well, I'm sure you will enjoy it.
