How much does Mr. Hunting charge to put a 500JRH cylinder in a FA? Call him and ask. He is in the midst of a move to Nevada but you should be able to get him regardless. 1-530-266-6877 Is he moving to Nevada?...I thought he was moving to Boise ID. If he's in Nevada I will be doing more new builds, I'm in Vegas once a month for racing, even got some custom headers to build in Henderson. Fingers crossed

Yes, moving/moved to Reno/Sparks, Nevada about 100 or so miles from the old shop. He said they were going to bring in a crew that specializes in moving machinery/equipment and it wouldn't take more than 2 or 3 days to get everything set up. He said to keep using his old phone number for now (530-268-6877) calls will get forwarded to the new shop. Also, They are redoing their website, it should be done soon.

Steve has the right number for Jack in his post. I guess my fingers are too fat for phone typing.

I was the 1st Maryland resident to buy one/had to go through state inspection of the revolver as it was not on the list/still have not shot it/no hurry could have sold it local a few times and made $$$. need to send 2Jack and get mod grips b4 I shoot it.
I kind of like my factory Herter's 44 mag. nice control roll.

All I can say is I used to own two S&W 500`s, two S&W 460`s, and one FA 475 Linebaugh. After buying a BFR 500 JRH all the others were sold and the JRH remains. I say its a keeper.

I just ordered my bfr 500 jrh from magnum research last week and in conversation he told me that as soon as all the production 500 jrh guns go out it will only be available through their custom shop. I don't see any available from grizzly ammo or buffalo bore anymore. Just happy that I'm glad I bought it when I did! Max's book on BIG BORE REVOLVERS really made me decide to get one.
Does anyone have any reload data to share or know where I could find it?
Thank you

Does anyone have any reload data to share or know where I could find it? Thank you That was a great move. I have two MR BFRs and they are close to the top of my list of favorites. First is a production model 5.5" and the second is a custom shop 7.5". Both have second cylinders in 50 AE. Best thing about the BFRs is you can trim down 500 S&W brass and use it without turning down the rims. Bullets up to 400 grains do not bulge the cases and work great. Reloading data is not hard to find, PM sent....

I wish they didn't discontinue them from regular production. I'd really like to have one and don't want to have to spend as much as it costs to get a ruger converted or to buy another BFR and have it converted.

I put a scope on mine this weekend, after about fifty rounds my wrist could not take any more.

Apparently they discontinued the .475 from regular production as well. Ironically, their best selling big-bore is the .500 JRH, but the bean counters fail to get it some times.
