Here is my new to me Colt Flat Top Target Bisley. Helluva thing to join the Colt Single Action party with this one, huh? Hard to fault to the guy who ground off the ejector housing boss and put on a Colt Shooting Master Barrel, since what he did brought it into my price range. I have been itching for a Flat Top Target Bisley USFA for years, but we all know how hard those are to come by as well... This will be traveling to Houston next week to get that ejector housing rebuilt and the other: .44 Special, 5.5 inch barrel, maybe some ivories. According to the seller, built in 1909 (308696) and originally in 32-20.

I would have that front sight put on the new barrel. Nice gun.

Can't beat that with a stick! In Chicago, we say, "Can't beat that with a baseball bat" because if it rhymes and has cadence, it must be true!

If it was mine, I would letter it to find out what configuration it left the factory, and then have Alan restore it to original specs.

Very cool Colt ! Old ponies like that make my heart skip a beat!
I understand exactly what you're saying.
I recently (last month and for my birthday) found my entry into the SAA club in a 1906 SAA with a grip frame that was likely from an earlier C&B conversion with ivories that someone had carved their name into. Brought the price down to affordable, and puts a smile on my face every time I hold it in my hands.
Congrats on a very cool gun!

Update: Barrel is at Turnbull's getting roll stamping. Ivory is on hand at Alan's. Here are a few in progress pics of the ejector rod housing boss rehab. (Outside is not yet machined to final dimension)
