Sometimes I describe any type of gun to a friend saying the bullet goes where the sights tell it to. This is one of those guns

Giving this a bump because I know there are a lot more customs on this forum that need to be documented in one thread out there.

Not a full blown custom but I had Jack Huntington do some work on it. Base Gun: 475 Linebaugh BFR Cut and Recrown at 5.5" Front Sight: Freedom Arms Style Base and Blade Action Job Grip Frame Reshape and Grips with Micarta supplied by me. I had a knife maker friend (Scott Gossman)make up the micarta. I had it done to match the knife you see in the picture. I had never seen grips with a liner color so I thought I would give it a try. I like the way they turned out but I know some of the purists will say it is over the top.

First time to post here. Probably should have been here much sooner!
1. Base gun: Ruger Single Six "Vaquerito" 2. Gunsmith: Nearby friend 3. Caliber: .32 H&R Mag 4. Cylinder length: Standard from factory 5. Front Site: Custom from 'smith 6. Rear site: Fixed (factory) 7. Barrel length: Shortened to 3.5" (quasi sheriff's model style); ejector rod/housing retained 8. Engraver: Mark Hykes, Sparks, Nevada 9. Rebluing: hotflashrefinishing.com/default.htm 10. Leather: www.mernickleholsters.com/index.htm 11. Polished off the factory faux 'color case hardening'; screws, cylinder base pin, ejector rod button fire (nitre) blued, but came out rather pale and don't show up well in photos; sides of trigger and hammer jeweled; action/trigger work (I can only say "very nice!"); factory grips (which are fine, although am thinking about something nicer)
What might have done different? Well, Hot Flash Refinishing did a great job, but I kind of wish I had done a fine BLUE like an old S&W.
I really need to get some better photos. But hope you like.

I don't tire from seeing that revolver! It's gorgeous! Thanks Whitworth. I'm just about ready to send a NM Blackhawk out to Jack for a face lift. I have been really pleased with his work and turn around time on a project.

Nice gun and thanks for bringing the thread back up. Lots of good stuff in here. Wish more guys would post some more pics and details of there customs. I think my favorite top strap configuration is a vaquero with the smith sights.
