Man! What rugged country! A feller sure works for his game in that area!
Great pictures and a great story. Thanks for sharing it with us!

This takes me back! I used to bowhunt the Haul Road back when I was stationed at Ft Wainwright. People who haven't done it don't understand how hard it is to hike that country. Nice ram, thanks for sharing! Eric

My wife bouht me a dall sheep hunt in the Brooks range, back in 2007. Guided, 1 on 1. Was the most challenging hunt I have ever done. 2 weeks climbing 2' deep wet sponge, or slick rock and shale. Legs and lungs screaming the entire time. Beautiful country, water everywhere, drink from almost any stream. Saw lots of sheep, but never a legal one. Did get on 2 wolves, after a qiuck discussion of legal or not, was able to bust em both at 325 yds. Expensive hunt, but great memories. Joe

Regardless of whether or not you took a ram, you have my respect for the two weeks you spent hunting in those mountains. In the early `90s I spent 5 days going up and down the Wasatch Mtn.s in northern Utah for elk and lost 20lbs. and that hunt was nowhere as hard as yours..... great memories indeed...........

Holy Thread Resurrection! You guys are taking me down memory lane! I didn't sheep hunt in 2016. 2014 was a rifle hunt, I slipped in the steeps and dislocated my shoulder, put it back in and hunted 4 more days, no rams killed. 2015 was another rifle hunt and I scored a nice broomer. I'm hoping to do another 45 Colt BisHunter sheep hunt in 2017.

What I love about resurrecto threads is enjoying the stories and photos again, as much as I did the first time.

I spent a week up that way. I drove through the Brooks range in Feb of 2011 on my way to the North Slope oil fields. That country will flat out wear you out. It looked a bit more like this

What a great story Snyd. I've been sheep hunting a few times but never found a full curl.

I can close my eyes and smell a woodfire down below in the timber, and hear the hiss of a white gas stove when up in the clouds.
