;D First origination of a post here for me so I thought I might show you my 44 Redhawk. I put Herrett Ropers on it and the action is a little heavy on the single action but verrrryyy smooth double action. I prefer the smooth double action as it is what I'll be using in an emergency.

Very nice! Yessir redhawks have a pretty sorry SA trigger. my 4" RH was literally off the scale when we tried an RCBS scale on it SA. The DA is a Smooth 12 pounds. A thousand or so times dry firing it and the SA is a bit lighter. Again, nice stocks

Robl: You built a holster for this. And I think that can of 2400 was purchased from you in Moscow many moons ago. Thanks gents for the complements. I feed it a steady diet of 265gr SWGCs from an NEI mold over a large dose of 2400 and a standard primer.

Herrett's seems to have the most beautifully figured walnut on the planet. Never saw one of their grips that wasn't gorgeous. Nice pic!!

ezekiel38, what do you think of the Ropers while shooting? What size hands do you have?
I have a Redhawk, but my hands aren't particularly large (my glove size is a "loose" large). Most aftermarket grips are far too big, but the factory "magna-style" aren't quite enough either. I've been considering a set of Ropers, but that's a lot of money to spend without seeing them firsthand (no pun intended).

I really like the "stock" grips on my 5 1/2" Redhawk, but man, those are some good looking Herrett's. I'm sure they wouldn't squirm around in my hand like the stock one's do.

I wear a size 9 glove and while the magna style wood with Tyler worked well up to 1150fps and a 265gr slug, the Redhawk begin to squirm in my hand above that velocity threshold.
I use the Herrett Ropers with checkering and the squirming stops at any load level. For a large hand I would recommend their Jordan Troopers. My pa in law has Jordans on his Pre 29 and they work well for him as he had large hands with long fingers.
Love the Herretts as they stop recoil control issues for me. My background is in DA revolver shooting so a Redhawk is a no brainer for me.

Cool. It sounds like your hand is about the size of mine or a touch smaller. Size 9 is on the large end of "medium". Medium gloves are tight, but Large is a touch loose.
Hogues, Pachmayers, etc are too large, but it sounds like the Ropers are about right.

Those are sure purty. I like the grain on some of those others, too.
