Hello all, We've just recently been told that my Daughter who is now 21 but will always be my little girl has to have a Kidney transplant. Just like getting hit in the face with a 2x4, came completely out of the blue with a disease that affects 2 out of every million people. No symptoms or signs and all of a sudden she has less than 10% Kidney function and is on Dialysis to keep her alive.
Of course I had every intention of being the donor and wanted them to get on with it and get it done. Unfortunately I have some medical issues in my history that made them turn me down so I'm completely useless except to ask others for their help.
I ask for any thoughts and Prayers you could see fit to offer up. God will intervene in this situation and fix it like he has so many, many times in my life even though I don't deserve it.
Thanks to all.

Prayers and good thoughts for you, your daughter and the whole family.
I can't even give blood anymore, let alone offer a kidney. Never drank much at all, but my stint in the South Pacific exposed me to hep B and although my body fought it off, even the resulting antibodies put me on the reject list.
All the best.
Doug

Tim,
I have had added her to my prayer list. Hopefully a suitable match will happen quickly.
One of my shooting buddies is about my age (60) and is going on 30 some years since they did a transplant on him.

Daughter had her first full regimen of Dialysis today. She handled it very well and things are starting to click along as this is the new normal. We're hopeful for a quick and complete resolution.

Chief,
I was just on here to oogle some big bore revolvers when i saw your post.
My prayers are with your daughter and your family. I've been on CAPD (peritoneal dialysis) off and on for 35 years now. I've had 2 transplants, the first from my mom, the second a cadaver. Please know I don't say that for any reason other than for you to know that i understand a little of what you are dealing with and i did indeed just pray for you. I'm guessing that you've had good Dr's and the team at the dialysis clinic. That will help.
If you would like to talk, please feel free to message me. Sometimes hearing from experience helps, sometimes just being able to vent to someone who understand helps. Either way, I pray for you folks.
