I am seriously considering it. I guess my estrogen level is increasing at the same rate as my age. The 475 makes me cringe a bit and the 510 makes me squirt a little.
What glove do you use?

Yeah what glove do you use? I don't own one of these monsters YET, but I do have friends that own them. I am LEFT HANDED using their glove kinda leaves me stranded.... |

I liked Past when they made them. Have used cabelas and thought there was too much padding, made it hard to manipulate the gun. Id like something with very minimal web padding and some middle knuckle padding made of very thin leather, but havent found it yet.

When I shoot for long sessions, I like close-fitting, light-weight buckskin gloves, with no padding or reenforcing.. they give my hands better purchase on smooth grips, and seem to offer good protection to the middle finger of my shooting hand.

I have used the PAST gloves for years and like them. I prefer not to have to use them because they make handling a bit awkward but sometimes...
Thats one thing I really like about my .480 BFR. Those ugly rubbers negate the need for gloves.

My favorite gloves come from Geier Gloves geierglove.comThey aren't cheap, but they are tough and comfortable; perfect for riding, roping and most other chores as well. They are not cumbersome at all, but are very pliable and conforming.. The # 200 slipon driving glove works best for me.. YMMV |

Have both the Cabelas and Past gloves. LIke someone else mentioned, the Cabelas glove has a little to much padding and they are undersized, so make sure you order at least one size larger than what you need.
Above 45 Colt and the glove comes on while at the range.

 Those cheap soft leather gloves work well, especially when you turn it inside out so the rough side is out. The thin wood grips on my 475 let it roll enough to cut the web of my hand, so I had to wimp out and wear a glove. |

I like my Pro Aim gloves a lot -- not a lot of padding, which I like.  |

I have these but have also been looking at the Pro-Aim gloves. Mine are fine except they needed a bit more padding on top of the thumb where my Redhawk thumps it when shooting the 300gr loads. I wrapped that area with medical tape and it is much improved. Chris |

I do when I am shooting the heavies or when it's going to be a long session (Pretty much every session with Lee -- LOL!). I try to think long term -- as in "I need to be fit for opening day of black bear season."

I use golf gloves (or unpadded batting gloves) on the heavier kickers (.475 LB, .454C are biggest I shoot) to keep the gun from slipping and mitigate the impact of sharp edges on hand/fingers. I’ve used padded gloves (Past and weight lifters versions) and find the added bulk to significantly change the “feel” of the gun and personally don’t like them.
Be sure to try them on and make sure that the stitching on the seams isn’t between your hand and the grip of the gun.
Golf gloves are easy to find and cheap. If they don’t work you are only out 8 to 10 bucks.

Take a look at Mechanix IMPACT gloves. The have a gell pad in the palm and the knuckle area are padded as well. The are light and pliable also.
Most auto parts stores carry them so it should'nt be much of a problem to try a pair on. However there are several different models with varying degrees of padding.
