I have a large collection of Vietnam books,in one written by a LRRP member he spoke of him and his team being in position one night waiting for approaching VC when a huge tiger walked in on the team.

I had a friend who claimed to have killed a tiger in Vietnam. No great story really, he said they were on an ambush or an LP or something and a pop flair went off, he blew the claymores and then nothing. At sunrise they found a young tiger laying dead. He said they skinned it hoping to preserve it, but had to discard it in a day or so because it was starting to stink.
