Jason over at Jack's sent me this picture today. Base gun is a 50th Anniversary 44, we added a Brass Bisley gripframe from John Linebaugh, fitted with sheep grips by Patrick Grashorn, a S&W Model 29 barrel rebored by Jim Dubell, finished out with Turnbull-colored hammer & trigger. I'm expecting it home by Christmas.

That looks similar to a .475 Max in the Axe collection.

Perfect, did he have to do some welding on the front of the topstrap to accomodate the barrel?

I need one of those!! That is beautiful, I love everything about it! Last time I was in Jack's shop, I was talking to him about re-boring a S&W N frame barrel to 500 Linebaugh. He said he can do them in house, and even showed me his rifling machine and explained how it worked. Just curious why the barrel was subbed out?

Thanks for the compliments. I'm thinking Jack can now rebore the .510's in house because after we waited almost two years for this one to be done, he decided it was worth it to tool up. Once you add that wait to the wait for the grip frame, this is a 3 year project. He did weld up the top strap. It is significantly more square shouldered than it was. It's hard to see in the pic above, but while he was welding, we also deleted the base pin latch. It's just a belt to the suspenders of the Bowen style screw. Here's a before pic to compare shoudler profiles.

Like the topstrap much more than factory.

Sweet Piece, Did Jack do his magic to bisley grip frame as well?
BTW I had the pleasure of purchasing from Jon a month or so ago and I had some shipping problems due to Sandy, and he was very accommodating with the lag time due to everything shut down, Thanks again Jon

Very nice. I am surprised he didn't work the top of the grip frame to cylinder frame transition to flow as a smooth radius?

Everyone should be so lucky to get a gun like that around Christmas. Beautifully done. Let us know how it shoots. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"
