I spoke to Dan Wesson at the NRA Convention and was told they are going to start making revolvers again next year. They will initially be made in 357 as that is their most requested caliber and will see after that. Hope it comes to be.

If they are made to the same quality as the still relatively new DW 1911's, they will be mighty fine! I sure would like to have another one. As good an action as was ever out there and stronger than all but Rugers DA's. I just hope they wont be priced like current production S&W,'s.

#3? Surely you jest! #2 is your number! 414, 375, 445,... I can see a "set" here...

You know...that's actually great news, thanks for spreading the word! If they do re-start revolver production, I will definitely be ordering myself one.

Didn't DW make a 414 at one time?

At one time they did make a 414, but not for very long at all. I would certainly buy one if they become available. Finding one has become the equivalant of the search for the Holy Grail.

Was just on CZ's website and they've discontinued most of their DW 1911 models. Not sure what's going on, but they made a really slick 10mm.

Hate to hear about the DW 1911s... IMHO Their product is a bright spot at their price range. I looked last week and thought I saw a significant amount of model change but not a decrease in models... Guess I'd better go cut that deal on the 10mm Pointman I looked at...

Just a Thought.....It seems that Everyone and their Uncle's are offering a 1911 or their twist on One..Even Smith and Wesson.
I for one do not believe that it is a bad thing.
Maybe CZ feels that the market has been flooded with reasonable priced, and reliable 1911's. Hence, instead of trying to compete in that market they have decided to go back to what Dan Wesson was known for in the first place..Revolvers.
Evrything goes out of fashion, then comes back in. Look around at the clothes and hairstyles kids are wearing. To me that is a Prime Example. Why should it be any different with revolvers?
I would say that the majority of folks shooting under the age of 30 really have had no exposure other than an article or two, maybe a picture, or the random specimen spotted at a Gun Show,Shop,Range,Ect...No I believe that this "Majority" are made up of casual shooters.I feel at least right now I am in that catagory myself. The Kids and I get out when we can as time and funds allow. for the most part our 22's see the most use. Hopefully soon I shall start reloading again. It was something i did with my Father and Brother when I was much younger. I apologize for straying there, but it will figure in to my next point..
The economy is not the greatest, I drive a truck for a Living and have seen the downturn first hand. People have begun economizing any way they can. What would be more economical than a Dan Wesson Pistol Pac that can go from a viable CCW piece to a Target piece, and then, a Hunting piece capable of taking Deer sized game in the case of a 357 Magnum which seems to be the consensus of most these day, in just a few minutes.
Add in those who are in thier 40's or Older that remember Dan Wesson's or even own a few that are now in reasonably stable jobs with a bit of discretionary income and I think there is a reasonable chance of success.
I hope it works out. CZ makes a pretty decent firearm, they have some top notch designers in their own right. Metalurgy, and manufacturing have come a Long Way since Dan Wesson closed their doors. The Shooting public just may see the best Dan Wesson's ever. The only thing I would do differently if I were in their shoes and heading up the Marketing Department is come out with a 357Magnum and a 22 at the same time, but with a twist on the 22. Offer it with a quick change cylinder of some type to convert it to a 22 Magnum.
I hope I did not offend or insult anyone's intelligence with my thoughts. I am going back to doing more reading than posting. Thanks for letting me share.

That's a really great idea DTrain. Making a combo pack of sorts with caliber 'a' mated to a .22lr or mag cylinder For practice would certainly be a huge hit.

Did DW ever offer a switch caliber theme? I know of the switch barrels but imagine a 22, 357 and a 44 on one frame? Have to resort to a Contender to do that now.
