Notice that front sight base? I understand it accepts FA blades! I keep a stash of Ken O'Neill FA blades on hand at all times! It will wear an undercut patridge ASAP...
Planning to trace the grip frame behind the trigger guard and overlay with a stock Bisley later today...

How about this? Subtle huh?

I've been talking about that for awhile now, and it makes a world of difference. I shot 50 rounds of .500 Max through mine last weekend and not once did it make contact with my middle knuckle. It is very subtle and it works like a charm.
Congratulations to you, Axe, you have acquired a very fine piece of shootin' iron there! Can't wait to hear how she shoots!

Very nice Axe. As you just found out, Jack's work is world class. And his Bisley treatment makes all the difference. 250 rounds of shooting with mine left my knuckle like this: Shot 50 rounds through Whit's last Saturday and the trigger guard never touched my index. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

And... Google 500 Maximum. Check out Wikipedia. This is the gun in the Wikipedia picture.. Looked like it when I saw the picture. Verified that the serial numbers matched yesterday.

Quite a cannon. What type of finish is that? They never made a stainless Ruger Max did they?

It's Metalife hard-chrome by Mahovsky. I had the same finish done to my 500 Max. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

You're right!
Jack Huntington is going to be offering this finish in-house soon as he has invested in training a member of his staff, so they can do it at the shop wiithout sending it out.

Wow, that's nice Axe. Glad you finally got your hands on it. I like the nitre blue pins and screws, that's a nice touch. Are the grip frame screws nitre blue as well?
So, what load are you going to shoot first in it? Full steam, or ease into it with some Trailboss loads first?

I eased into mine too....it's a wise practice. 435's @ 1,500 fps were a nice warm-up for 525's @ 1,350 -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

The grips on mine do a great job helping me negotiate the recoil. Axe, you will enjoy this one!
